CBOnline and McNair Ingenuity are currently gearing up for the 2012 Community Radio National Listener Survey. The survey is conducted every two years and provides a solid basis for understanding community broadcasting audience trends and valuable feedback to the community broadcasting stations and sector.

Survey reach will be increased with a move to a hybrid method of surveying. While previously participants were contacted via landline telephone, new methods will include both phone and online contact. The sample size will increase this year by 85% providing a more detailed picture of our listeners.

To ensure that your station is able to take full advantage of the survey, consistent branding is of vital importance. This is as simple as making sure that presenters across all timeslots are announcing your station’s preferred name correctly and frequently.

A list of station preferred names and how they correspond with your callsign are available here.

This list of preferred names will be the same as that used to conduct the survey. Please contact Stephen Hahn at CBOnline via the Contact page immediately if your preferred name needs to be updated.

For more details about survey, including sampling, quality assurance and information about the 2012 sample methodology visit the National Listener Survey page on the McNair Ingenuity Research site.
