We aim to supply the local community with broadcasts that compliment the lifestyle of the people in the Port Stephens Shire
Our services provide the local community with information regarding upcoming events, up-to-date weather reports as supplied by Nelson Bay Coastal Patrol and sport results. We also provide on-air promotion of corporate sponsors/members as well as catering for majority of music types with specialised music programs.
Port Stephens FM Community Radio was founded by a local businessman, Mr Benni Lind in 1992 after two serious meetings were held at a local bowling club. Following some hard work in 1992 and 1993, a very nervous group of people had their first test transmission at Wanda Head, Salamander Bay on April 1st in 1993. Over the next few years the station was allocated seven days per month for test transmissions. On February 2nd 1998 Port Stephens Community Radio was granted a six month full time licence on 100.9. After October 1999 the station was granted a permanent broadcasting licence.
