Charles Sturt Council and Radio Adelaide are helping members of Adelaide’s Bhutanese community to find their voice in community radio. The community contributes to Radio Adelaide’s Neo Voices program, featuring their own songs and discussions about finding a place as a global citizen.
George Zangalis, NEMBC’s Honorary Executive Director remarked that the program ‘once again demonstrates what we can do in community broadcasting. I hope that Senator Conroy will take notice.’
NEO Voices is an initiative developed by Radio Adelaide and the Charles Sturt Council in Adelaide to support young refugees from new and emerging communities to get involved in broadcasting.
The Bhutanese people contributing to the Neo Voices program have been featured in the Adelaide Weekly Times-Messenger newspaper.
