Huon FM provides an innovative supplementary and complementary service to the Huon Valley and surrounding areas. It is a leading community service/current affairs provider for its target area. Huon FM caters for the whole community including minority interests, the elderly and youth. It has volunters aged from 12 to the late 60s. The station broadcasts from a former fire station having started as a school based narrow caster. There is strong coverage of local sport. Huon FM has approval to double its present broadcast footprint to cover the adjoining Kingborough local government area.
