Ten years after its inception, the National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters' Council (NEMBC) Women's Committee decided to publicise the stories of six outstanding migrant women in 2006.
The result is a CD of interviews recorded with women from culturally and professionally diverse backgrounds, sharing their successes and many challenges, stemming from their experiences of migration. Completed with the support of the NEMBC Women's Committee, the CD was sponsored by 6EBA 95.3fm and World Radio in Perth.

Dr Ann Mihkelson, PHD - Sydney University

Dr Ann Mihkelson is Editor of Chemistry Australia, the professional journal of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute for which she recieved a citation. Published three textbooks, an autobiograpy, appeared in over 60 publications in chemical eduation

Dana Popovich
Serb background, educated in the former Yuguoslavia
Dana Popvich works in ethnic social welfare. A strong advocate for the role of migrant women, refugees, ethnic childcare, multicultural aged care and against domestic violence. Honoured many time for her outstanding contribution to community services in WA, she has been awarded a lifetime membership from the NEMBC.

Katharina Fehringer, Young Australian of the Year 2007 for Northern Territory
German/Phillipino Background
A music teacher, and performing classical guitarist and violinist. As a member of the Netherlands Guitar Orchestra, Katharina toured Europe. In addition to her music, she also campaigns against child abuse.
